As part of my “doing nothing” project, I’m gonna go see movies. These movies:

300 – a review said its like “just ass kicking that kicks ass that, while said ass is getting kicked, is kicking yet more ass that’s hitting someone’s balls with a hammer made of ice but the ice is frozen whiskey.”

Also, its old, so its cultural. And when told that the Persian arrows would be so numerous as “to blot out the sun”, Dienekes replied “So much the better, we shall fight in the shade”, which is possibly the most bad-arse thing that anyone has said, ever.

Hot Fuzz – from the Shawn of the Dead people, so a must.

Hot Fuzz released this weekend, 300 at start of April. Who’s in?

  1. I’m in for both!

Although, that being said, I’m far more excited about 300. It looks extremely educational – who knew, after all, that the Spartan army was composed entirely of 6-pack abs and more wide shoulders than the average gay porn flick in phalanx formation?

    1. well, given that they a-trained obsessively, b-had a culture of more food loathing than a pro-ana website, and c-encouraged hot man/man action, somehow I am Not That Surprised.

  2. 300

    OMFG ME!!!

I saw the trailer for it in the airport in Sydney and I want to see it so badly it kinda hurts a little. It makes me happy in my movie place.

Or, as one particularly good quote from the movie goes:
“The arrows of Xerxes will blot out the sun!”
“Then we will fight in the dark!”

OMG manly as all hell. *is ded of glee*

    1. Damn, and here was me thinking you could sneak us in through the Sekret Staff Tunnels. And organise an intermission by hitting the projector with a big stick and bring us free cake.

    1. Well, you know, I was bouncing around on the end of a bungy in front of five hundred odd people, so they might have missed me had I gone.
